Queen Puabi was buried at Ur, in Mesopotamia, around 2600 BC, wearing a headdress of gold leaves strung with lapis and carnelian. It is now at the Penn Museum in Philadelphia. We took a single leaf, long and veined, and hung it from a fine hoop.
