Spondylus shells from the Aegean travelled hundreds of kilometres into prehistoric Europe and were cut into bracelets. In Varna’s richest grave, one shell bracelet was covered in sheet gold. Our cuff follows its shape, wide and slightly irregular, with the ridges of the shell kept on the surface.
